Hot Summer Nights

Our friends at Cinder Block Brewery are sponsoring this year's KCBM Competition. They will be choosing one lucky brewer's recipe to be scaled up on their 15 BBL system! The lucky brewer will get to brew with Bryce and Bucky on Cinder Block's Premier Stainless 15BBL system. The beer will then be put on tap for all to enjoy in their taproom in North Kansas City.

Entries are limited to 600, so enter early and enter often!

Arugula, goat cheese, macadamia nut, and dried pineapple salad with a 4Hands Single Speed Session American Blonde vinaigrette, paired with 4Hands Single Speed

 

Entree Course

Duo of smoked Hawaiian sausage, a Hawaiian spiced pork sausage with Teryikai BBQ and a Huli Huli chicken sausage, served with Polynesian fried rice and Hawaiian style sesame cabbage salad, paired with Crane Brewing's Saison with Brett

 

Dessert Course

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut cupcakes paired with KC Bier Co.'s Dunkel, and a Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel Oreo Pie paired with Tallgrass Pub Ale

 Spiegelau Glassware Demonstration

We are also hosting an afternoon learning session with Spiegelau glassware.  Cost is $25 per person if you show up (body in the seat), and you get to keep the 4-piece glassware set!  We are limited to only 40 spots, so make your reservation today! Please note,  we, at the Kansas City Bier Meisters, partnered with the with the Spiegelau crystal company to provide this event.  Our agreement with Spiegelau requires there is person in each seat participating in the tasting   The price of the glasses without participating in the tasting is $50.   We are expecting the demostration to start approximately 3:00 PM on the 21st.

You'll want to be a part of this one - we love taking care of our volunteers and have been amassing a metric ton of prizes. We will even have separate prizes for each BOS: beer, mead and cider! Entries are due February 5th. Entries are limited to 600 again this year.Raiders

We have some exciting things slated for this year:

  • Afternoon session on Saturday will be “Midwest Mead Panel”, where award winning professional and ameatur mead makers will answer just about any question you have. Mead sampling included. This is limited to volunteers only.

    • “Midwest Mead Gods” will include:

      • Susan Ruud, owner of Prairie Rose Meadery & 3-time AHA Gold Medal winner in Traditional Mead, BJCP Grand Master III & BJCP Mead judge

      • Al Boyce, BJCP Grand Master V, BJCP Mead judge & multi-award-winning mazer

      • Scot & Karen Schaar, BJCP Mead judges & multi-award-winning mazers

 

Banquet Information 

  • Banquet will be put together by Greg Macaleer, who gave us quite a tasty treat last year

    • Banquet speaker will be Chef Celina Tio! She is the winner of the James Beard Award Best Chef: Midwest and has been seen on several shows including Top Chef & The Next Iron Chef. She is also the chef/owner at an acclaimed restaurant here in KC: Julian as well as owning The Belfry, a craft beer bar/lounge in the Crossroads. She is also a Certified Cicerone. We are absolutely honored to have her.
